Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be warmly welcomed by Overland Trek Nepal representatives and transferred to your hotel. After settling in, a briefing session will be held to discuss the trip itinerary and essential information. In the evening, explore the vibrant streets of Thamel.

Leave Kathmandu Valley early after breakfast to cover your seven-hour drive to reach Syabrubeshi. The bus leaves from “New Bus Park”, 2 KM away from Thamel. The bus leaves between 6-8 am to Syabrubeshi. The guide will pick you up from the hotel and take you to the bus station to catch the bus. Enjoy the views of the hillside, villages, terraced fields, and green forests during the ride. After a long journey on a bus, finally, you will finally reach Syabrubeshi for an overnight stay.

The small town of Syabrubeshi is a starting point of Langtang Valley Trek as well. However, for the Tamang Heritage Trail, you will take another route to Gatlang.

After breakfast around 7, the trekking guide will lead you the way to Gatlang village via Goljung. Ascending for 2-3 hours, get an excellent view of Ganesh Himal, Gosainkunda Ranges, and Langtang Lirung. Then, the walk continues to Ringa and Goljung before reaching Gatlang for an overnight stay.

Start your day with a sip of tea/coffee and a delicious breakfast of Gatlang. Then descend to Thangbuchet village close to the Bhotekoshi River. Get a good sight of Chilime Hydropower along the way. Crossing the Chilime village, the route starts to climb by crossing a small suspension bridge towards Tattopani. Enjoy a mesmerizing glimpse of Langtang and Ganesh Himal during the hike to Tatopani.

Tatopani means “hot water” in Nepali. There is a natural hot spring in this place called Tatopani where you can relax and ease your body after a whole day of trek. Overnight stay at Tatopani Teahouse.

The day starts after breakfast around 7 am and ascends toward Nagthali Danda, beautiful green pasture with dazzling views of the Himalayas. Your Lunch Stop will be at Bridham Village and continue climbing to Nagthali Danda. From this Hill, descend to Thuman Village for an Overnight stay. People from this village love singing and dancing. Late in the evening, you can enjoy their performance.

Another exciting day is ahead of you today. At the beginning part of the trail, you will stretch your leg along the flat pathway and then descend to Timure. During your descent, you will get to see the old Tibetan Trading route. Well, Tibet itself is not that far away from this trail, just a 3-4 hour walk away.

Stopping in between for lunch, the walk continues to Briddim, beautiful Tamang Village where you will stay in a Homestay. In the Homestay, you will encounter all the cultural experiences and showcases by the local people. Enjoy as much as you can and learn more about the Tamang community during your stay over here. This easy, short trek from Kathmandu ends today. Enjoy your last breakfast in this Langtang Region and descend to Syabrubeshi for 3-4 hours. Along the way, you will pass through the peaceful route of rhododendrons and alpine forests. Have lunch in Syabrubeshi and stroll around this small town in the evening. Overnight stay at Syabrubeshi.
