Tour PlanExpand all

Your adventure begins early in the morning as you enjoy a typical breakfast around 7:00 AM in Pokhara, which might include Tibetan bread, eggs, and a hot cup of tea or coffee. After fueling up for the day, you'll drive for about an hour to Nayapul, the starting point of the trek. The road to Nayapul winds through scenic countryside, with views of the surrounding hills and local villages.

Once you arrive in Nayapul, the trek begins with a gradual hike along a relatively easy trail that follows the Modi Khola river. The air is fresh, and you’ll pass small settlements, terraced farms, and lush landscapes. The first section, from Nayapul to Hile, is a pleasant walk through gentle terrain, with occasional mule caravans transporting goods.

As you reach Hile, the challenge starts. From here, the trail turns steep, and you’ll climb more than 3,200 stone stairs to reach Ulleri, a charming Magar village situated at 2,070 meters. This ascent is challenging but rewarding as the panoramic views of the surrounding hills and terraced fields unfold. You’ll stop for a well-deserved lunch along the way, perhaps a hearty Dal Bhat meal, the staple of Nepali cuisine, providing energy for the rest of the hike. Upon arrival in Ulleri, you’ll settle into your lodge for a restful night, with the cool mountain air and a cozy bed to relax in after a full day of trekking.

Max Altitude: 2,070 m. Meals: Breakfast/ Lunch/ DinnerAccommodation: TeahouseDistance: 1.5 hrs drive then 4-5 hrs walk

Wake up early around 6:30 AM to the serene mountain surroundings and enjoy a heavy breakfast, which might include oatmeal, Pankcake, Noodle Soup, toast, and tea or coffee. The second day of the trek begins with a steady ascent from Ulleri. The trail leads you through lush forests filled with towering pine and rhododendron trees. This region is especially vibrant in the spring (March-May), when the rhododendrons bloom in red and pink hues, creating a stunning natural landscape.

You’ll pass through the small village of Banthanti after a few hours of trekking. This is a great spot to rest, have some snacks, and enjoy the views of the surrounding hills. Continuing the ascent, the trail becomes more scenic as you cross streams and pass through several small settlements, including Nangethanti, where you'll likely stop for lunch. Here, you can enjoy a simple but satisfying meal of noodles, soup, or rice, while taking in the peaceful atmosphere of the village.

After lunch, it’s a 2-3 hour trek to Ghorepani, which sits at 2,874 meters. Before entering the village, you’ll pass a permit check post, and after a short uphill climb, you’ll arrive at Ghorepani. The name "Ghodepani" comes from the days when traders would stop here to water their horses ("Ghode" means horse and "pani" means water). Nowadays, it's a popular trekking stop known for its proximity to the Poon Hill viewpoint. Overnight at a cozy guesthouse in Ghorepani, where you’ll enjoy the warmth of the fire and perhaps meet other trekkers.

Max Altitude: 2,874 m. Meals: Breakfast/ Lunch/ DinnerAccommodation: TeahouseDistance: 5-6 hrs

Your day begins very early, around 4:30 AM, to hike up to the famous Poon Hill viewpoint (3,210 meters) for one of the most stunning sunrises in the world. The early morning climb takes about an hour, and as the sun rises, the panoramic view of some of the highest peaks in the world unfolds before you. From Poon Hill, you’ll witness the majestic Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges, including peaks like Machhapuchhare (Fishtail), Himchuli, Annapurna South, and Nilgiri. The golden light reflecting off these snow-capped mountains is a sight you’ll never forget.

After soaking in the views and taking some photos, you’ll descend back to Ghorepani for breakfast, which is typically served around 6:30-9:00 AM. After breakfast, the journey continues to Tadapani, a village located at 2,630 meters. The trail to Tadapani involves a series of ascents and descents, with occasional breaks to admire the views of the Annapurna range.

You’ll pass through dense forests of pine and rhododendron, with the sound of birds and the rustling leaves accompanying your walk. Keep an eye out for wildlife—if you’re lucky, you might spot a Langur monkey or even a deer. After about 3-4 hours of trekking, you’ll arrive at Tadapani, a small settlement tucked away in the forest. The surrounding area is known for its dense woods, making it cooler than Ghorepani. Here, you’ll stay overnight in a teahouse, where a warm dinner and a peaceful atmosphere await.

Max Altitude: 3,210 m. Meals: Breakfast/ Lunch/ DinnerAccommodation: TeahouseDistance: Total 5-6 hrs

After waking up around 7:00 AM, you’ll have breakfast at Tadapani while enjoying the last views of Annapurna South and Hiuchuli. The trek today is mostly downhill, with a scenic walk through the forest and villages on your way to Ghandruk. The path is peaceful and offers views of terraced fields and distant mountain peaks.

After 2-3 hours of trekking, you’ll reach Ghandruk, one of the largest Gurung villages in the region. The Gurung people have a rich cultural heritage, and you can explore the village and its museum, which showcases traditional Gurung lifestyle, clothing, and artifacts. You'll also have the chance to meet some of the locals and learn more about their daily lives.

After a light lunch in Ghandruk, you’ll drive back to Pokhara, which takes about 2 hours. The road winds through beautiful countryside, offering a final glimpse of the stunning landscapes you’ve been trekking through. Once you arrive in Pokhara, you’ll have time to relax and enjoy the comforts of city life after several days in the mountains.
