Welcome to Nepal! Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, one of our team members will greet you with Garland and transfer you to the hotel in a private vehicle. You are already in the Capital city of Nepal, Kathmandu, filled with UNESCO World Heritage sites. After checking in, take some time to rest. After some time, meet your guide for a brief overview of your Mount Everest View Trek. The guide will also do the re-check of your trekking gear and suggest if something is missing. Unlike back in the day, the flight to Lukla departs from Manthali Airport, Ramechhap. To arrive at Manthali Airport, it takes 4-5 hours to drive from Kathmandu. The Sharing transport to Ramecchap leaves around 1 am to catch the flight. However, if you want luxury and save time, a private van or car can be arranged. After reaching at Manthali airport, hop inside the plane according to your schedule and fly to Lukla.

Upon landing at Tenzing Hillary, your Short Everest view trek begins! The trek starts descending gently toward Phakding passing through the villages such as Chheplung, Nachipang, Koshi Gaun, and Ghat(2530m). Today, you’ll cross several suspension bridges and pass through the pine forest of Dudh Koshi River Valley to reach Phakding.

Once you land at the Airport, apply for a visa with your valid passport and a passport-size photo or you can apply through the Nepal Immigration website or at a Nepalese Embassy in your country.

If you’re planning for a 7-day Everest View Trek, get a minimum of a 15-day visa.

Lukla Flight from Kathmandu or Ramecchap

As of now during the peak trekking season, the flight to Lukla from Kathmandu departs from Ramechhap. It is due to the air traffic at Kathmandu Airport. Therefore, travelers need to drive from Kathmandu to Ramecchap,Manthali Airport, for 4-5 hours in a shared or private vehicle. However, during the off-trekking season, winter, and monsoon, the flight operates from Kathmandu directly to Lukla.

Note: We suggest to our clients to have an extra day for this trip because sometimes the flight can be delayed or cancelled from Lukla due to bad weather.

Permits required for Everest View Trek

The Everest View Trek in the Khumbu Region requires a Khumbu Rular Municipality Permit and a Sagarmatha National Park Permit. You must obtain these permits with your passport, visa, and passport-size photo.

The best time to do the Everest Panorama View Trek

The best time to do this short trek in the Everest region is during the Spring (March to May) and Autumn (September to November) seasons. This short Everest View Trek can be done during Winter (December to February) and Monsoon (June to August). However, due to unfavorable weather conditions, it may not be available during these times.

Altitude Sickness and Remedies
