The trek begins along the lush green forest to Deurali and ascends through the small settlements to Jhinu Danda(1780m). After enjoying the moment at Jhinu hot spring, the trek continues following the ascended trail along the forest to Tadapani(2630m). You can get your Nepal visa directly at Tribhuvan International Airportupon arrival in Nepal. Except Indian citizens, all foreigners should get Nepal visas. You can apply for the visa at the airport with a valid passport for at least six months and a passport size Photo.

Spring (March-May) and autumn (September-November) are the best time to do Khopra Danda with Khayer Lake Trek. This trek is manageable during the monsoon (June-August) and winter (December-February), though these seasons come with additional challenges. Altitude sickness or Acute Mountain Sickness occurs due to reduced oxygen levels and lower atmospheric pressure at higher altitudes. Hot water in lower altitudes is free, but tea houses in higher altitudes charge a certain amount. Always use purification tablets like Katadyn Micropur MP1, Potable Aqua Chlorine Dioxide, Potable Aqua with PA+plus, and Aquatabs, while drinking natural tap water.

The most common and convenient way to reach the starting point of the Khopra Dada Trek via Jhinudada Hot Spring is to first fly into Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, Nepal. From Kathmandu, take a domestic flight to Pokhara. Once in Pokhara, you can either take a local bus or hire a private vehicle to Nayapul, the gateway to the trek. From Nayapul, the trek begins, passing through Jhinudada Hot Spring on the way to Khopra Dada.

Yes, permits are required for the Khopra Dada Trek. You will need both the Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP) and the Trekkers’ Information Management System (TIMS) card. These can be obtained in Pokhara before starting the trek. It’s advisable to bring a couple of passport-sized photos for the permit applications. Make sure to check the latest regulations and fees, as they may be subject to change.

The best time to undertake the Khopra Dada Trek is during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) seasons. During these months, the weather is generally stable, offering clear skies and moderate temperatures. Spring brings vibrant rhododendron blooms, while autumn provides excellent visibility of the stunning Himalayan peaks. Monsoon (June to August) is not recommended due to heavy rainfall, and winter (December to February) can be challenging due to snow and colder temperatures.

Yes, teahouses and lodges are available along the Khopra Dada Trek route, including the section through Jhinudada Hot Spring. These provide basic accommodation and meals for trekkers. It’s essential to carry some cash, as card facilities may be limited in these remote areas. Accommodation and food options can vary, so it’s advisable to check recent trekker reviews and carry some snacks for energy during the trek. It’s also recommended to bring a good-quality sleeping bag, especially during the colder months.

Khopra Danda is situated north of Pokhara, in the Annapurna region of Nepal.

The maximum altitude of this trek is 4660m at Khayer Lake.

The trek usually starts from Phedi which is about a 1 hour 30 minutes’ drive from Pokhara

This trek is considered moderately difficult, and suitable for trekkers with a reasonable level of physical fitness.

The main highlight of this Khopra Ridge Trek is its breathtaking views of mountain peaks such as Annapurna South (7219m), Nilgiri(7061), Tukuche Peak(6920m), and Dhaulagiri(8167m). The trek also takes you to the sacred Khayer Lake and passes through the local Magar and Gurung villages.

You can charge your mobile phones and other devices as there is electricity at a lower altitude. At higher altitudes, solar power is used, where teahouses charge a certain amount for charging your devices.

While trekking in the Annapurna Region, you’ll need a charger compatible with a Type C and Type D electric socket. But, carrying a Universal USB charger that works with multiple sockets is recommended.

You can keep your unwanted luggage at the Overland Trek Nepal office or your hotel for free.

Most of the teahouses have Wi-Fi facilities but you need to pay an additional amount to use it.
