10-day Langtang Trek Itinerary

After you arrive in the beautiful city of Kathmandu Valley, the next day's adventure to the Langtang Region kicks off with a 7 hours’ drive to Syabrubeshi. The following day the journey begins with your foot to Lama Hotel via Domen, Bamboo, and Rimche. Within 2 days of walking, the trail leads to Langtang Village and Kyanjin Gompa the next day. Kyanjn Gompa is most popular for its Yak Cheese Factory,Glacial Lakes, Monasteries, and local cuisines. From Kyanjin Gompa, trekkers will have option to Hike Kyanjin Ri and Tserko Ri. After the Hike to these viewpoints, descend to Lama Hotel before concluding the trip at Syabrubeshi the next day. The trip back to Kathmandu is similar to the start of the trek with 7-8 hours of driving in a bus.

How to get there at Syabrubeshi by Jeep or Public Bus?

Generally, there are two options to get there at Syabrubeshi, by public bus or a private Jeep. The public bus to Syabrubeshi costs $10 per person and takes approximately 7-8 hours to reach there. To get to the bus station it will take another short drive from Thamel to “Macchapokhari New Bus Station”.

Whereas, taking a private Jeep is a time shaving along with the comfort. The private Jeep Cost to Syabrubeshi ranges from $200 to $250 depending on the trekking season. Although the Private Jeep is expensive, the drive is around 5-6 hours with more relaxing and time shaving.

Kyanjin Ri or Tserko Ri, which viewpoint is best in Langtang Region?

The highest altitude during the Langtang Valley Trekking is either Kyanjin Ri 4700 meters or Tserko Ri 4980 meters. The 10-day Langtang TrekItinerary covers both of these Hike in the Langtang Region.

After reaching Kyanjin Gompa from Langtang Village, trekkers can climb up to Kyanjin Ri for acclimatization. Along the way, you’ll pass small settlements and cross rivers until reaching Ghoda Tabela, where you’ll take a break to enjoy views of Langtang Lirung. Continuing uphill, you’ll finally reach Langtang Village, a traditional Tamang settlement that offers insight into local customs and lifestyle. Travel Insurance for Langtang Trek

Travel Insurance is a must when you are visiting a Himalayan country like Nepal. On this Langtang Trek Nepal, you will hike to Tserko Ri which is almost 5000 meters. Altitude sickness, injuries, rescue, and other accidents can occur during the journey. Langtang Trek Permit Cards and essential documents

Just like Everest Base Camp Trek, you will require a permit card to enter the Langtang Region. To obtain these permits we will need your Passport copy, Visa Copy, and Passport size photo.

Accommodations along the Langtang Trekking Route

Accommodation during the Langtang Region Trekking is in a basic teahouse. These teahouses offer basic service with simple bedrooms on a sharing basis. The bed has a mattress, pillow, and warm blankets. You can expect to share bathrooms in some places like Lama Hotel. Other than that, all the accommodation has an attached bathroom and toilet. However, if you want to take a hot shower, they will charge you extra costs.

Meals and Drinking Water in Langtang

All the accommodation in the Langtang Region provides meal facilities throughout the trek. The breakfast and the dinner will be served on the same teahouse you spend an overnight. However, for the lunch, you will take it along the way during the walk by stopping at the random teahouse chosen by the trekking guide. Here is the list of the meal items you can choose from the menu during each meal:

Breakfast: Toast, Omelet, Tibetan Bread, Porridge, Muesli, Chapati, and hot drinks like Tea/Coffee/Milk.

Lunch & Dinner: Nepali Daal Bhat, Plain Rice, Pizza, Spring Roll, Vegetable Salad, Vegetable Soups, Noodle Items, Dumplings, etc.

Drinking water along the trip to Langtang is easily accessible in the teahouses. Either you can buy the mineral water or buy the filtered water from the teahouses. Our suggestion is always to buy the filtered water to avoid the plastic bottle usage during the trek. Each mineral water bottle costs $2-5 in teahouses. Whereas the filtered water is less expensive than mineral water.

Electricity and Internet facilities in Langtang

While trekking in Nepal including Langtang Valley, electricity facilities are available in teahouses to charge your mobile devices and camera batteries. Although the teahouses will charge extra price for using this facility. You can expect same with the internet access too, although the internet isn’t too reliable. Wi-Fi is available with some extra fee. Each of these services costs USD 1-3 per devices.

Langtang Trek Nepal difficulty and preparation

The journey of Langtang Valley is somewhat easy in comparison to other short trekking like Mardi Himal or Everest View Trek. Langtang trek is accessible for all kinds of people from novice trekkers to experienced climbers. Even if you don’t have previous trekking experience but are in excellent physical shape, this trek can be done easily. However, hiking to Tserko Ri can be a little challenging for beginners which requires good mental preparation.
