Everest Base Camp Trek without flight is an excellent way to explore the Khumbu region following the route of legend Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and Edmund Hillary. Thousands of trekkers visit Nepal annually and follow the regular Everest Base Camp Trek for 12 days. However, Everest Base Camp Trek without flight allows you to explore the unspoiled region of Lower Everest. It is the best option for adventure seekers who want to experience a different trip than a typical Lukla Flight.

The best part of this trek is visiting the remote areas of the lower Khumbu Region. Everest Base Camp Trek without a flight takes you closer to the untouched beauty of this region. Avoiding the Lukla flight allows your body to strengthen against the Altitude sickness. Therefore, even a novice trekker with excellent physical fitness can complete this trek.

Your EBC Trek by Jeep begins from Kathmandu driving to Thamdanda via Salleri. The initial walk starts from Thamdanda to Phakding and connects with the regular EBC Trek Route. Likewise, passing Phakding, Monjo and Jhorsale villages takes you to Namche Bazaar. The bustling town of Namche Bazaar is the gateway to Mt. Everest. Spending a day at Namche for acclimatization, the trek takes you to EBC via Tengboche, Dingboche, and Lobuche. After reaching EBC and Kalapathhar, the trail returns retracing the same route back to Thamdanda.

Why choose Everest Base Camp Trek without a flight?

Trekking to EBC is a surreal experience standing tall at the foot of the tallest peak in the world. Of course, taking a Lukla flight is a daring thing to do. However, many things can be seen during the trek without a flight. It is all about exploring the untouched villages and cultural settlements of the Everest Trek. Moreover, another reason to choose this trek is to avoid the frequent Lukla flight delays and cancellations.

What to expect during the Everest Base Camp Trek without a flight?

  • You will get to see excellent natural scenery, Dudhkoshi River, Rhododendron Forests, Farmlands, Stupas, and Monasteries.
  • Similarly, trekking through the small villages of the Lower Everest Region such as Salleri, Phaplu, Takshinu, and Bupsa.
  • Mountains above 8000 meters including Everest, Mt. Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse, Pumori, Makalu, etc. are visible during the trek.
  • Likewise, admire the cultural beauty of the Sherpa Community. The Everest region is the home of the Sherpa People. Get close to the local Sherpas, enjoy their lifestyle, and communicate with them closely.
  • As the trek goes higher, expect it to be challenging. The trail at higher altitudes goes through a sloppy path, a rocky trail, many ascending and descending. However, no technical gear is necessary to walk through the challenging trail.
  • In addition, expect the oxygen level to get thinner as you go past 3500 meters altitude. Some symptoms of Altitude sickness can be expected as well. Hence, do not panic at all and inform it to your fellow guide.
  • Moreover, expect the trail to be crowded during the peak trekking season.

Cost of the Everest Base Camp Trek without a flight

The cost of this trek depends upon the number of group members, days, type of packages, etc. Moreover, the costs vary if you are trekking privately or joining the group.
