Pikey Peak Trek also known as Dudhkunda Trek takes you to the lower Khumbu region. Also, It is a perfect location to explore the most renowned trails of the Everest region. Moreover, named after a Deity of a Sherpa Clan this trail offers you a mixture of cultural and natural beauty. As the trail is secluded and few trekkers travel this route, travelers describe this place as the cultural path to Pikey Peak, showing the raw beauty of the place.

Lower Everest Khumbu region is still one of the least explored regions and this is from where Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and Sir Edmund Hillary traced their way to their Everest expedition. Pikey Peak is considered to have the greatest vista of the Everest region showcasing breathtaking views of Nepal’s eastern Himalayas with panoramic views of the Khumbu’s eight-thousanders, including Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu, and Kanchenjunga to the western Himalayan range, of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Manaslu.

During the monsoon time, the inhabitant’s Sherpa celebrates a unique festival joined by Buddhist Lama and Monks capturing your imaginations. A blend of ethnic Sherpa culture and traditions with the off-beaten trail, a variety of subalpine flora, and high chances to spot rare animals of the Khumbu regions while enjoying the views of the mountains. Pikey Peak Trek allows you to explore a different part of the Everest region.

Travel Insurance:

Travel insurance is required for all clients participating in any activity. We strongly advise you to obtain a complete insurance plan from a reputable insurance company to cover personal injury, death, hospital expenses, repatriation fees, helicopter rescue, and any other disease covered by the insurance plan.

Passport and Visa:

The Nepalese consulate in your country or the immigration office at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu must issue each client with a valid visa with a six-month validity from the date of return.

Meals and Drinking Water:

In popular trekking regions such as Annapurna, Everest, Langtang, and Manaslu, there is a menu system with various ethnic cuisines foods as well as western meals, but some locations provide you with typical Nepali meals which are different from international meals, and these meals are prepared by the local supplement, every tourist lodge and tea house has a well-trained cook who focuses on clean, hygienic, fresh, and delicious foods, and every lodge has safe drinking water or mineral water.

If you buy a water purification tablet in Kathmandu, you can take water tap water and purify it yourself, saving money and reducing plastic pollution.

Itinerary

Day 1Arrive at Kathmandu

The flight into Kathmandu with a panoramic view of the valley below and Himalayan ranges towering above is stunning. Once you land and check out from the Tribhuvan International Airport our agent will greet and welcome you, and drive you to your hotel. then at the evening, you will get a short brief about the trip and equipment then will go to a Nepali restaurant to have traditional Nepali food which calls the thali set.

Day 2Kathmandu to Bamti Bhandar

Will wake up early morning then have breakfast then take an early morning drive to Bamtibhandar from Kathmandu located in the northern part of the Ramechhap district 235 kilometers from the Capital. Bamti Bhandar is a Sherpa settlement at an elevation of 2990 meters with colorful settlements covered by lush green sub-tropical jungles. Once you reach Bamti Bhandar rest and explore the area later.

Day 3Bhandar – Namkheli

After an early breakfast head to Namkheil which is around 7- to 8-hours of the hike from Bamti Bhandar. At first, you’ll pass by Thadakhola from here follow the trail to Chaulakharka–Lelepu,

to Likhukhola the boundary between Solukhumbu and Ramechhap, from here in around 3 hours you’ll reach the village of Namkheli.

Day 4Namkheli – Golla

After your early morning breakfast, you will move out to start your trek, it takes around 3-4 hours to get from Namkheli to Golla (2900 m) Golla’s literal translation is Monastery hill. The villages of Golla have few settlements and a handful of lodges. After you reach Golla rest for a while and head towards the Gompas in the area, Orgen Sanang Chholing Gompa, Pema Dechhen Choling Gompa, and Guru Padhma Sambhav Gompa. Later in the afternoon head to your accommodation.

Day 5Golla – Pikey Base Camp

Wake up early and start your trek to Lamomane, the trail is coved with thick Rhododendron, Oaks, and varieties of vegetation and there can be a good chance that you may spot wild birds and animals as you cross the forest and a beautiful vista of snow-capped mountains can be seen.

Then head to Dallemane-Muktumje through deep woodland till you reach Naur Dada, from here beautiful settlements of Koshinasha, Golla, and Gupchuka can be seen. After a meal at Naaur Dada, you’ll head towards Pikey Basecamp a 2–3-hour uphill hike, located at an elevation of 3600m, and upon reaching the camp head towards your accommodation.

Day 6Pikey Base Camp – Pikey Peak – Junbesi

Wake up early, after a light meal then heads towards Pikey Peak (4070m) which is roughly a couple an hour away, from the summit witnessed the dawn over the wonderful vista of the Himalayas, including Dhaulagiri, Everest, Makalu, Kanchenjunga, AmaDamlam, Lhotse, Nuptse, Number, Gaurisankhar, Langtang to the west, and other summits. Head down after spending a brief time at the summit to Jarsabhanjyang from there head towards Junbesi.

Junbesi, located at a height of 2990 meters above sea level, is regarded as one of Sherpa’s most beautiful settlements.

Day 7Junbesi –Thupten Chholing- Junbesi

Located on lonely mountains, Thupten Chholing is a secluded Buddhist monastery nestled and preserved in its authenticity hidden from the outside world. After breakfast, you’ll hike to the Thupten Chholing Monastery (2800m) and explore the monastery and you may join the nuns for meditation. It’s a free day for you so you may head towards other attractions of the place, later in the evening head towards your accommodation.

Day 8Junbesi – Chiwang- Phaplu

After an early breakfast head towards Chiwong monastery located at an elevation of 9,000 feet on a cliffside along the Chiwong hill. Chiwong Monastery is alive with the prayers and scholarly activity of the monks and nuns. Every year on the full moon of October, the Chiwong monastery celebrates the Mani Rimdu festival. The Mani Rimdu Festival is a vibrant festival held in the foothills of the Himalayans.

After the monastery tour head towards Phaplu which takes around 5-6 hours, after reaching Phaplu you may take a walk around to Salleri Bazer, the Solukhumbu district’s headquarters.

Day 9Phaplu – Kathmandu

After early morning breakfast at Phaplu, head towards Kathmandu, you can either catch a flight that takes around 40 minutes or a driver of around 8 to 9 hours. Upon reaching Kathmandu head towards your accommodation. Later

In the evening, a special cultural program and a farewell dinner will be served to commemorate the end of your journey.

Our staff will drop you off at the airport, you’ll bid farewell to your newfound friends as well as Nepal.
